Early morning picture of the Third Flatiron taken through one side of my 10x70 mm binoculars, from the front sidewalk of my house in Boulder, Colorado. I have left the circular format as proof that I shot this through my makeshift telephoto lens. No other processing of this S500 image taken June 18, 2005. Enjoy.

The image is more symmetrical with the right side cropped. I also brightened the image a bit.

I tried an automatic color balance in Picture Windows 3.5, with this result. Certainly is not as "warm" a picture.

Interesting observation - I had not noticed the "I" until you mentioned it. I went back to the original image and blew it up. The "I" looks like it could have been painted on - I don't recall hearing about that. Obviously, the "C" had been tampered with at some point. The original painting of "CU" happened early in my life in Boulder - sometime after 1966. Over-painting it with reddish paint didn't do much to hide it. I don't know what could be done to erase the letters. Sandblasing would leave an obvious scar.

The link is at the top of a local land mark and people are forever leaving their mark in the rock.

Nice shot's all the same
Cheers

What beautiful country, David. I hardly noticed the writing on the rocks. Itis interesting to consider our different view points, say regarding Indian pictographs, and modern day graffiti. At least the Indians seemed to be relating issues of life, and not leaving their signatures.
