Here's a few from a show about a month ago. The Dropkick Murphys are a band that I've enjoyed for awhile now but never had a chance to cross paths with. That changed in April of this year when, after being invited on stage to perform with Bruce Springsteen, guitarist Tim Breenan dropped to his knee and proposed to his fiancee on the stage of Boston's TD Banknorth Garden. I de facto became their engagement photographer and started a relationship with the band.

At the tail end of their fall tour, I caught up with them in VT and here are a few of the photos I took. As always, comments and critique are appreciated.

1st, 3rd, and 4th are cool. Last shot is a pretty groovy atmosphere shot.
6 looks a bit random with noone facing the singer, I'm sure theres a reasonable story though!

Dropkick Murphy's are a band I have liked for a little while, but never seen photos of even. Nice to finally put some faces to the band. Nice series mate

Oh man, that is awesome. I remember hearing about that. I live in MA, I would love to get a chance to shoot these guys some day. I agree on the lighting, I have seen them a few times, and remember the lighting being not very good.

Did you get to shoot the whole show -- I only ask because every time I see them, they bring up people on the stage at the end of the show.

Anyways, 2, 4, and 8 are my favorites. Where did you shoot 8 from? Up in a catwalk or something?

Thank you. The Higher Ground does have some good lighting equipment in house that allows many bands to have better lighting than many venues that size. One of the perks of having past LDs in the club go on to be the LDs for Phish and Wilco.

Thanks, Coppatop. I did get to shoot the whole show, including some nice backstage stuff pre-show. Those shots were indeed taken towards the end of the show. # 8, which took a bit of post work to make it look right, was shot from the headlining band's dressing room balcony. It's a wonderful place to watch the show and shoot from if you have access.

Thank you. The light was very good at times and not so good at others.
