Dec 21, 2009 23:42 | #6 While I can't compete with these great images above, here is my image. Full frame then 100% crop. Sharpening at default (3 in DPP), no processing at all. I think it's plenty sharp for me for an 18mp image. Try to beat this detail with a 40D, or XSi (which are great cameras themselves). I personally think the 100% crop could even use less sharpening actually. 100% crop: SONY A7RIII | SONY A7III | SONY RX10 IV | SONY RX100 | 24-70 2.8 GM | 70-200 2.8 GM | 16-35 F/4 | PZ 18-105 F/4 | FE 85 1.8 | FE 28-70 | SIGMA 35 1.4 ART | SIGMA 150-600 C | ROKINON 14 2.8

Was this taken with the EF 400mm f/2.8L I.S. lens+ 1.4x TC II converter? Photographers do it in 1/1,000th of a second...but the memory lasts forever!

But just like I mentioned in other threads, since the magnification factor at 100% is very high on an 18mp sensor, all the conditions must be right for a super sharp image. I agree this one! If so, this image just put the icing on the cake as proof for me to buy this lens + converters! Absolutely incredible! Yes the 400mm IS and the Canon 1.4 - I have 100's no 1000's more
