Following the instructions in the manual. Options on the 580 are Master-Slave-Off. Tells me in the manual if I want to switch the master off and fire the slave, select off. But what happens is the Master fires and the 430 doesn't?

What you need to do is to press the Zoom button repeatedly until the light ray icon to the left of the flash icon blinks (on the LCD screen). Then use the dial to change the blinking "on" tp "off". This will set the master so that it doesn't flash, only the slaves will. Don't press and hold the Zoom button because that will only let you switch to master mode, slave mode, or wireless mode off. ...Leo

You do this by first pressing and holding the Zoom button until something flashes on the screen. If it isn't "Master on", turn the dial until "Master on" flashes and then press the Set button in the middle of the dial. Next, press the Zoom button repeatedly until the light ray flashes as I mentioned in my previous post. ...Leo
