I searched through the forums and although found great information regarding copyrights & agreements I was still unable to find some answers.

Here's my scenario:

A pop warner website wants to use several of my images for their soon-to-be revised website. There is no pay for the images used but more like a favor for a longtime friend who recently became the webmaster for our local pop warner. The most I'll be receiving are credits on the site.

With that said, fine print credits mean nothing to me so I'm willing to help out but only for a certain time should my friend no longer wish to volunteer. In what way should I put, into an agreement, the use of my images for a certain amount of time?

This is what I came up with so far:

<AGREEMENT>

I grant permission to XXXXXXXXXX Pop Warner to display the copyrighted photos specified here.

The permissible photos to be displayed are these selected images:

_001.jpg_______________
_002.jpg_______________
_003.jpg_______________
_004.jpg_______________

This agreement is valid for (X amount of time) and once expired, all copyrighted photos specified here must be removed from XXXXXXXXXX Pop Warner website immediately.

Hereby signing below, I agree to the terms stated.

__________ _/_/__
Pop Warner Date

___________ _/_/__
Photographer Date

</AGREEMENT>

I'm thinking of having the images hotlinked to the site to maybe catch some drifters, shouldn't hurt right? Should I include © 2009, etc anywhere? If I decide on allowing usage of the photos for a couple years do I change the © to read 2009-2010?
Any further information you guys recommend? Comments?

What you're talking about doing is licensing the use of your images. You can license the use however you want. Inasmuch as this is a free effort, you can certainly state a specific term of usage. Be sure to use the proper terminology. You are not transferring, selling, sharing, renting, or doing anything with the copyright.

You do not change the copyright date (you don't even have to state a copyright date), but because the photographs are being published, you should get into the practice of registering the copyrights. Many photographers now do it all online with a quarterly application including everything they've done for the previous three months--it's $35 per application online.
