A couple of pics that I took on a recent trip to the Grand Canyon. I was lucky enough to be there when a thunderstorm went through and got some great cloud shots.

Comments welcomed and appreciated! :D

Thanks!

nice i like it. 2nd one is my favorite. 1st one needs improvement in composition. Maybe a crop to follow rule of thirds and also taking away the right portionFeels very unbalanced. Needs a little bit more sky on the 2st. Just a tad

I think the first one is fine as is, I wouldn't change a thing. The rule of thirds is just as suggestion and this first photo would be diminished by applying it. The reason is that there are two very strong focal points that each stand on there own. If it were divided completely horizontally in half that would be an issue, but the left and right sides are at different distances and the horizon line is not entirely horizontal...which makes all the difference in this case. I do agree though the 2nd one would be improved by cropping some of the dark bottom out. The problem with that is you need more sky or it will have "funny" proportions and you can't really crop the left or the tree on the right that balances the color on the left....

"Your mileage may vary." :)

I wouldn't change a thing! I like both of them, but number two is my favorite!

Thanks for all the nice comments!

Felix, we did go through Flagstaff, even took a drive up to the Arizona Snow Bowl. So strange that it was over 100 degrees when we left Phoenix, and there was snow up there! Its a beautiful state and I can't wait to come back!

Felix,
Here are a couple of links to pics from that trip. A lot of them are just "snaps" for my mom and I to remember the trip, but I am pretty happy with some of them.
