I'm thinking about buying a 5D MKII and was wondering if I can expect any good after-christmas deals. What do you guys think?

the bing 20% off for a mk2 kit seems like as good as it's going to get. 20% is a lot off $3500!

5d2 is a body that's in demand. i wouldn't really count on any store discounts. maybe store returns after christmas?

On major camera gear I've never really seen any "Black Friday", "Cyber Monday", or after Christmas sales.

I'm looking at purchasing a 5DMK2 myself. I'll continue to look around after the new year.

The best deal I've seen for the 5d2 is no sales tax.

a week ago Crutchfield had Bing 20% cashback with no cash back limit. So a 5DII came out to be $2080.

It sounds good, but I bought two items at two different times using a Bing discount, checking through correctly, and have never received an email or notification of money in my account.

However, I wou ldn't be surprised to see a direct discount from the big vendors.

I picked up my 5Dm2 body at Best Buy using their 12% coupon ---
Even w/ WI sales tax, I still saved ~$200 :)

20% cashback from Crutchfield? I'm guessing this is over?

I just looked on Bing and Adorama has a 10% cash back. That's the best I've seen so far. Not bad. Maybe I'll do it.

It doesn't hurt to try. Just decide that it's OK to pay full price if the Bing savings never show up.
