L308s...here goes!

Just ordered my L308s, as I'm about to pick up a Mamiya RB67 Pro-S.

From those that have used it - how do you find it for accurate ambient reading?
This'll be my prime use for it as the RB67 doesn't have a meter unless you get the metered prism...and I wouldn't trust that!

You would be far better off trusting the L308 incident readings, than to trust the reflected light meter of your Canon dSLR!

Gathered that - I didn't want my 5D to be a $1000 light meter...inaccurate at that!

The issue is not the accuracy of your Canon reflected meter, but the fact that so often subject brightness and/or scene brightness is not 18% gray. So the reflected light meter is fooled. The incident meter is not fooled by subject brightness or scene brightness. My reflected light meters all agree with my incident meter when I use an 18% gray target to meter with the reflected meter.

Agreed, especially when snow is involved. 'Properly Exposed' snow is rendered slightly grey.
