I don't think it looks silly on you, just small. I wish I had that problem because even moderate sized bags look friggin' huge on my back.:o

The one thing I noticed that I thought was hilarious was how tiny that Canon backpack looked on Mike. Big guy that Mike. Makes me feel/look like a Hobbit...

That guy with press credentials must have been real happy shooting with you guys eh?

:lol::lol: Im 6'1 and felt tinny next to him myself!

The nikon guy was annoying. He kept jumping in and out of every other picture.

Nah it looked alright but you saw my crumpler. It was the 5MDH. Looks like it could work out well for you.

Well, if you had press credentials and were getting paid to shoot, then I am sure you would not have appreciated all those folks with cameras without press credentials, no?

It's fun to join the parade, but I would say if you see folks with credentials, make sure you move out of their way because they have dibs on getting the shot...

But gathering from the random people that were walking the parade, I think a few "rogue" photographers here and there really wasn't a big deal.

He was actually a bit mindful. I noticed him looking at us when we were pointing for the shot. So it wasnt all bad. We also had someone from the metro paper shooting right next to us for a chunk of the parade.

Nice captures, especially number 1 and 4 (handsome fellow on the left haha).

Funny thing about the Nikon guy, is that he actually got approached by the police prior to the parade starting and they analyzed his press pass and made him show ID. Yet we were all there with no passes.

the thing is we did stay out of the way - of the paid 'togs and crowd. it was common sense. we were all lined up on the side. too bad we don't have a picture of us - we were like ducks in a row ;)
but at some point, we were swarmed by kids and their parents.

Yeah, it's impossible to control a crowd like that, even on the street. There were shooters following the float so it was near impossible bot getting one of them in the frame unless you were shooting tight. At least you guys showed restraint as far as getting in the paid guy's way. I know there are a lot of overzealous shooters out there with too big a sense of entitlement getting in the way of shooters doing it to get paid.

Again, interesting in that we were all at the same event and pretty much in a similar location, yet each of us had different interpretations of the event. Different cameras, different lenses, different settings, different framing...very interesting to see.

So, do you guys want to do Friday dinners or Sunday brunches? Personally I prefer Sunday for getting together and shooting/eating.

Yup it was very intresting to see the different approaches to the same event. All types of different angles.
