Hi All,

I've owned a 40D for about 6 months now and have gotten very familiar with the controls etc.

I tried to activate the AF direct control in C.Fn 3 -3. Options 1 and 2 work but i can't seem to get control of the AF points using the quick control dial using option 3???

I flashed it to the latest firmware but still not go. Anyone else experience this? Do I have something screwed up?

Thanks!

Strictly speaking, there is no option 3. Option 0 is the default (press AF selection button first), option 1 is multi controller direct (pressing AF selection button gives you automatic selection) and option 2 is the rear wheel directly. The AF selection button in combination with the main dial then gives access to exposure compensation or aperture setting.

For both option 1 and 2 to work, you need to manipulate the joystick or the rear dial within six seconds from releasing the trigger's half-press position. For option 2 to work, you also have to unlock the rear dial.
