Action is always great, but sometimes you just have to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show..:p

Kardas??
Seriously?
He sucks.

Hahahahaa, just kidding.
Kardy is a cool guy and a friend of mine.
When he’s at the races in Europe he stays with me and I stay with him and his crew when I’m in the US.
I learned a lot from him, great photographer.

Wow :) you know him, cool. One question, is he using a full frame (sorry I'm not up on what the Mark series of camera's are) all his photo's have nice DOF or he's compressing the background with the lens?

Jefro98, thats pretty awesome that you have raced for so long, and still have a two stroke. So are the tracks in you country pretty nice (GP sandy) did you ever photograph andre malherbe (maybe before your time?)

Nice shots. I'm jealous of you guys with 70-200. I just bought one but have yet to use it.

Yep, he is using full frame camera's. Mark 1 series. Not sure which. He's using a 300mm f2.8 a lot too so there's where you see the extreme DOF.
He let me borrow it at the MXdN in France last year for the morning practice session. Really cool lens, see below picture.

95% of the tracks in Holland are sandy yes. Pretty fun but you have to be in shape to keep going fast. When you get tired, it's really hard riding sand.
I have seen Malherbe race a lot but I was still a kid then and never took pictures in those days.

Sofar I haven't seen much wide angle shots here.
I have a 10-22 lens and absolutely love it.
Creates great pictures, especially if it's blue skies kinda weather.

Please share if you have any, here some of mine:

Cool shots, Jefro.

I just picked up a Sigma 10-20 mid-summer last year but never really had a chance to use it. I agree, wide angle shots can be pretty sweet with an awesome sky.

Yeah those are cool Jefro, I just got my 10-22 in the mail this week, so I'm going to see what I can pull off with it this weekend

Thanks.
You guys will love the wide angle lens.
At the races I have the 7D equipped with the 70-200 and a 30D with the 10-22 or 24-105 so I always can switch fast when I see a good spot for wide angle shots. I always come home with loads of it.

Some more:

Nice shot, it explains the shallow dof for sure. Yeah I just bought a FF and a 70-200, if I just leave it at 200 and treat it like a prime, might have the same effect. I think I added 10-20 years on you asking if you have photographed Andre m. Andre Malherbe and the riders of his time were the best in the world. 500cc, rough track, real men of motocross. The fans in your country really get into the sport it seems.

I'm hoping my Sigma will be fast enough. I'm debating on selling that and getting the Tokina 11-16 2.8 instead.

I too use a 70-200 2.8 mounted to a 7d. I have a back up 50d and 40d, but I've never tried juggling them around at the same time! That's something I should try.

Those are sick Jefro! I love the 10-22, for the pits and the Outdoors. You can get some cool stuff for SX, but you just can't get close enough like you can at the Nationals...I bet I have probably made more money off the 10-22 then anything else..
