Jake I think your lens is front focusing. In the first picture the dirt in the foreground looks sharper than the rider does. In the second picture the whoop right in front of the third rider also looks slightly sharper than the rider. Might be my monitor here at work. Regardless the pics are awesome. I really like the point of view in the second one.

It's quite weird actually, sometimes my lens front focuses but most of the time it's right on. I was going to have the lens sent in and calibrated with my body, but I think I'm going to be switching bodies so I'll just have to play around with the micro adjust for the mean time.

I think this one is fine, the rider is sharp as hell on my computer. So, somewhere between exporting from Aperture and uploading on flickr the quality was slaughtered.

Sorry, not quite a dirtbike, but this was the biggest wtf moment for my lens. Focused on the eye and the back of the head is in focus.

I was having a really wierd problem when I had the 70-200 2.8 non IS It was always backfocusing. I was messing with the micro adjustments with all the articles and ideas ive read about it and I was never able to get it perfect. However when I put it on a 5DmkII it worked perfectly fine.

Then I got the 2.8mkii and it was still not focusing right and I was pissed! I had the micro adjustment at 0 and couldnt figure wtf was going, but when I disabled the microadjust menu it works 100% spot on now lol.

Congrats BDW. Awesome work. I can't believe how the editor spliced all those photos together with such great flow. I don't think I'm smart enough to do this kind of work.

I wonder how much editing time this entailed? Maybe Shift could do something like this with his retouching business.

Jake- Sharpness seems to be degrade as the quality of the image is reduced/uploaded. Leaving only the true sharp portions. Many of the pictures I post for people on Facebook look like razor blades on my screen and are just sharp on Facebook. Then when they have the image printed or see it on my screen they are blown away because the true quality shows. I believe this is mainly do to resolution loss from mass media and photosharing sites like photobucket and snapfish. Less resolution equals less data.

Yeah I've done lots of graphic design stuff, the people doing this are top knotch for sure. I've messed around a bit with doing posters similar to this with some of the local riders to try to get some extra biz. It sure is time consuming though, lots of trial and error, moving stuff around and knowing when to stop

Great shot 82. I like the eyes. Was this from the 1D IV?

great shot 328. This brings up a question ive been battling with for awhile now. With having a 7D and a 70-200 mkii would it make more sense to get a 1d mkiv or a 300 2.8 is mki
