It really wasn't so great, I cleaned it up a lot...

Oh Ok. Well you did a good job tweaking it though. This shot shows how glass is as, maybe more important than the body. Very sharp shot.

I'm just curious if guys move around a lot or just stay in roughly the same area while a race is happening. I am pretty sure I move around more then anybody! I can't stand sitting still in one spot for to long. Usually I will start in the stands and get the start where nobody else is, thanks to the 400. I'll work my way down after a couple laps and depending on where the finish is, try to work my way toward the podium at the end. Usually I am the last one to the podium though, I just don't care enough about getting the same shot that 20 other guys obsess over for some reason. I would rather get all the action around it and behind it. 1DX, 1D MarkIV, 5D MarkIII, 70-200mm 2.8., 400mm 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 17-40, 15mm

Mar 24, 2013 13:09 | #3919 Well I tried some panning shots the other day, inspired by some previous threads. This is one of the best but can't quite clean up the rider motion. Is there a trick, like a tripod or magic shutter speed. thanks Image hosted by forum (642059) © sparqk [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. BrownDogWilson Goldmember 1,456 posts Likes: 286 Joined Aug 2006 More info | You guys have me all into this slow shutter deal now too! It can be very aggravating trying to get it just right..The first shot I was at 1/80 I think and it's not horrible, but not worthy of anything either. The second one I was at like 1/40 and that is next to impossible! They were both shot with my 70-200..I've done a few with the 17-40 and that is much easier to pull off..

Mar 25, 2013 00:27 | #3927 I went back and tried a few pans today. I found using a 17-55 at 50mm at 1/50s was easier also than the longer lens. This shot seems odd to me but my keeper rate went up to about 4 out of 16 shots . This is good for me. Image hosted by forum (642168) © sparqk [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW.
