Looks like you got him when he stopped before the roost really started flying. This is in comparison to your normal shots. That 300 sure is sharp though.

Do you think its worth the switch from 7d classic? I have both and prefer the Mark over the 7D. Its a 1D body. Nothing wrong with the 7D but it just doesn't compare. Now the 7D II... I'd like to see a heads up comparison. Canon 1D IV, 7D, Canon 50 1.8, Canon 300 2.8 IS, Canon 70-200 2.8, Canon 24-70 2.8, Canon 24-105 4.0

Interesting lens choice. I like the bokeh, how did the AF handle the fast action? |Sony A7 / Sony 35mm 2.8|

328somewhere Senior Member 644 posts Likes: 74 Joined Sep 2009 More info | The AF was really good, but F2 is just too thin and gets tricky. Depending on which way I was focusing from (infinity to subject or near to subject) the DOF was just too thin and trying to backup to make it larger left too much of the frame open. Moving to F2.8 is much better, but the slight sharpness advantage goes out the window in comparison to 70-200's with IS. I think 4 stops of image stabilization will give you much better consistency over the sharpness advantage when fatigue sets in.

82NoMe Goldmember More info | Dec 29, 2014 22:30 | #5758 The 135L was my go to and primary lens for years. It was way sharper than my 70-200 2.8. I usually shot it at f/5.6. I slowly stopped using it for the 70-200 2.8 ver.2, mostly for the versatility of not having to foot zoom. It’s a great bang for your back. Cheers... jim
