just curious, do any of you use any filters, primarily circular polarized when shooting MX? im considering getting a B+W and giving it a go.

Thanks in advance.

Nope, usually just slap on a cheap UV to protect front element

Finally got to go shoot some motocross!! These are taken at a local track called 212 Land. Shot on my 1D MARK IV and 400mm 2.8 lens. I will add more photos later. Let me know what you guys think.

#2 looks good. #1 crop is odd, maybe a little to tight. The soft front fender is a distraction, try a narrower aperture, the light looks good enough to support it. It might be my old eyes but the saturation could use a boost , or something, just to give it some pop. What do you shoot, raw or jpeg, and what program do you use to edit? shooting with a flash, if you don't already , might be something to consider when the sun is to the side or just behind. Awesome kit, looking forward to seeing more shots.

Does anyone know the photo gear restrictions for the monster energy cup in Oct. I'd hate to buy a ticket, book a flight, arrange a hotel, just to be left standing outside because of" pro gear"

I cant say that I "know" what they currently are, but I'd send them an email.

Last year I failed to get an industry and a media pass on time so I just bought a ticket and figured I'd shoot from stands. As soon as they saw the 70-200 in my bag they turned me right around. I went to 3 different lines. Second one also turned me around, and on the third time around I wrapped my lens in my hoodie in my bag and they didn't notice it. I got in and had no problems from there.

I believe they're starting to crack down. I assume many people complain about big lenses being in their way and photogs slipping in and out of the places they paid a lot of money to sit in.

If you're flying in, I would definitely give feld motorsports a call or shoot an email and see what the restrictions are. That would be a pretty penny down the drain for something you could have avoided.

Thanks!! None of these are cropped thats just the shot. And no not your eyes I took down the color just a bit for my own reasons to have fun. Really wish I would be able to shoot more motocross but I do more mma and off road racing stuff.

I like seeing the eyes if the rider. Shows how intense and focus you must be in this sport.
