Sucks I'm not going to Cali this year :(

Well next time you do hit me up. We'll shoot some motocross and put some dead animal over fire.

Need a bit of help with using my flash for fill in light while shooting moto. I am still using my CanonEOS50D with speedlite 580EXII
My settings are
Full manual
F5.6
AIServo
Center-weighted average
White balance-flash 1/250
Flash is set to ETTL- this may be where my problem starts? I really have no idea how to use my flash and the proper settings . Seems for the most part my pics. are over exposed. Can someone help me get in the ballpark?

try using your highspeed sync.3rd button from the left on the flash unit. Then you can set your speed to over 1/250, the faster you shoot the weaker the flash. You should read up on this to learn what cautions you need to observe to safe guard your flash gun. Its easy to forget and over heat your flash.

I agree with Sparqk. High speed sync on the flash, Switch to AV for a while. Shoot at F4, ISO 200-400 and leave the flash in TTL. If you run into exposure problems use exposure comp to correct.

I once came across this site with lots of info on (canon) flash.

It helped me understand the basics of flash photography a little better.

Got a chance to go to Alabama for the 2017 CRF450 intro. My computer is officially a complete piece of crap so I gave up on trying to edit. Here are a few that I got done before I gave up.

Didn't hear anyone complain about anything of substance. The only complaint I heard was that the cases look worn quickly because the paint rubs off. I was told to bring my gear bag, so I did. Ended up getting to take it out a few times and i'm now devising a plan to sell my Kawi somewhere around tax season, catch up on bills, then get my hands on one early next year hopefully.

Sounds good. It's been forever since we rode together. Let's make that happen soon.
