I wrote a free tutorial on my blog. Consider it a Christmas gift! You will find it here. (external link)

Also, I am working on writing the mother of all comprehensive beginner DSLR photo lessons here (external link). Let me know if I should continue the effort.

I read your first chapter and glanced over the 2nd (Need to get to sleep) I think many people will benefit from it but I think you should remove the mention of photoshop and change it to "editing software" or mention several options such as: PSE, LR, CSx or an older version for starters.

I hope you emphasize to strive to "Get it right in the camera" whenever possible.

You are on your way towards helping many newbies and you're doing this at a great time of year when the flood gates open.

Mike,

Thanks for checking out my stuff and for the input.

I don't mention PSE, LR, and the other editing software because I think it's too much of a distraction. I believe part of the difficulty learning photography these days is the plethora of options in editing software. I think photographers have to face the music and dive into the full version of photoshop right off the bat. Almost every serious photographer has learned photoshop and raw processing. Why not do things right from the start and avoid wasting time and money on lesser software?

And Canon shouldn't make, and no one should use, anything but L glass
