Happy holidays, all. I'm in the market for a carry-on shoulder bag that will hold a 40D, 17-55/2.8, 70-200/4, Lensbaby Composer, 430EX II, and still have room for small travel items like a netbook, a magazine, a novel, passport/tickets, a thin sweater. I wouldn't need to use this as a shooting bag--I prefer to carry a small day bag (Domke F-XZ) when I'm out and about.

From a little poking around it looks like the Think Tank Urban Disguise series might fit the bill, but I'm not sure which model would be most appropriate for what I'm carrying (i.e., combination of camera gear and personal travel items). Any thoughts? Are there other brands/models I should consider?

Thanks for your expertise.

If you like Domke, why not stay with Domke? Take a look at the F3x, F-802 or F-803.

I travel extensively-- as in across the globe, including developing countries for extended periods of time-- with a Northface Hot Shot (with labels covered) for my "camera" and day bag and Kestrel 48 for my actual backpacking bag.

For point-to-point, the Northface carries, internally:

Canon 5D, Olympus 24mm f/2.8, 35L, 135L, Sigma EF 500 DG flash, 5 CF cards, remote release, CPL, GND, ND, Benro Tripod (folded to 14 inches, secured inside with miniature bungie), Asus 1005HA netbook (running OS X), three 5D batteries, legal size notepad, novel or two, 2-4 "paperback" moleskin notepads, USB stick drive, 2.5-inch portable HD, Asus AC-DC adaptor, smart phone, Spiderco knife, pens and other accessories, a change of underwear and a shell-jacket/long sleeve shirt, roll of toilet paper. Snacks and a bottle of water in the external, mesh, side pockets.

It holds that comfortably.

When I go out for the day, I carry the camera w/ lens mounted and tripod in the main pocket. Moleskins, remote release, and second lens in the secondary pocket, and keep the bag compressed almost flat-- I barely even notice I'm wearing it. That gives me tons of room for extra items to come along... or for me to pick stuff up along the way. I generally carry 1.5 liters of water in the side pocket when I'm in the tropics.

Lowe Pro Fast Pack.

2 main compartments - the bottom one for camera gear, the top for anything/everything else.

Used it on my recent travels and found it very convenient for day trips out from the hotel. Wish I had it on my Thailand trip tbh.

EOS 400D, Sigma 10-20, Tamron 17 -50, Nifty Fifty f/1.8, Canon 100 f/2, 70-200L f/4, Speedlite 430EX II.

Thanks, all. I'm focusing on shoulder bags for the time being, but those look like great backpacks as well. I'm going to see if I can get a hands-on impression of those Domkes at a local dealer.
