About a week ago, the rubber from around the viewfinder of my 400D fell off, and i can't seem to find it anywhere. Is there a way to order a replacement? I know its pretty small but is there a part number someone knows of, or would a local shop carry them?

Thanks!

Are you talking about the eyepiece for the rebel 400D? where are you located? I have an extra one I can send you if you want.

It's Eyepiece Frame EF. If you're in the UK....Link (external link).

This may sound incredible, but several years ago this happened to me and my quite new XTi, and I found it was cheaper up here in Canada (we had a small camera shop in town back then) to buy a used Canon EOS film camera body (I still have it!), and cannibalize the rubber eyepiece part from it (it fit exactly), than to order a replacement through the shop!

I just replaced the eye piece on my XT, it was $15 shipped from B&H. Part was something like $9.99

I didn't know of that lmgtfy link. I will definitely be using that with a lot of people I know!

Eyepiece Frame EF is actually the rubber piece for putting onto the dioptric correction lenses to replace the standard eyepiece. The standard eyepiece is the Canon Eyecup EF.

You might want to order more than one as these get lost fairly often. The little plastic hooks crack, then the eyecup gets loose and soon gets lost. It appears that they have increased in price. I paid $9.95us for the last ones that I ordered.
