I have a 5d mark 2, and premiere pro cs4. What do I use to make the .mov files work. Do I seriously need to buy ANOTHER program just to make it work? And i've spent the past hour looking through forums for an answer...
any suggestions? Thanks!

This encapsulates my current understanding on the issue. From what I've read and seen is that the progressive is mix of interlaced frames and you need to do extra processing to get it to show progressive. Stuff and things

More info | Dec 26, 2009 16:25 | #14 I think what you are referring to is the way you can encapsulate 25p (progressive) capture into a 50i (interlaced) output. That's how most AVCHD cameras including my Canon HF-20 work but it's only for output via the onboard HDMI and component to ensure compatibility with TVs that only do 1080i. If you copy the files to a PC as I do then they are full HD 1080 at 25 frames per second progressive which can then be burned to Blu-Ray and output at 1080p on an appropriate TV. If you installed quicktime after premiere pro it may have screwed up some preferences, but other than that you should have no issues. If you want to edit 5dmkii files without skipping, you have three choices: I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.
