cheap macro gear ! 50mm F1.8+ tubes

shot from today, been trying to fiqure out the cheapest possible solution for macro photography, here we are, Canon 500D+Canon 500mm F1.8+ Kenko tubes 36+24, shot with embaded flash, nothing too fancy about the gear but pretty solid results

Nice shot. I got the 50mm 1.8 and some Macro tubes for Christmas and have been playing around. It's a great combo with some serious shallow DOF.

Lots of different ways of getting into macro. About the cheapest I know of is just reversing the kit lens with a body reversing adapter - gives a macro zoom lens going from around 0.5:1 to 3:1

Good shot with a cheap set-up. Interesting to see the 50/1.8's bokeh is just as bad in macro shots as it is in normal use!

i have a cheap set of link delight tubes for my 50mm f/1.8 they seem to work just fine
