Well, after weeks of little or no sunlight, I had a few today I was watching come within 10' of the window, eating something not sure what in 25 deg temps and spitting snow...
And they weren't afraid of the camera clicks too... No post processing at all on these... 100% crop..
My apologies for the large photos..

If there not Phoebe's, please let me know... Thanks for taking a look..

Thanks Steve, I looked them up too but thought differently but you may be right... I can't imagine what they could be eating between those patio blocks..

That's a female Dark-eyed Junco, Norman. They're ground feeders like most Sparrows. You'd be amazed what's growing between patio blocks and at the edge of rocks in a garden. My yard usually has some in it and they spend most of their time under the feeders. Like the shots you got of her.

Great detail on the Junco Norman... man you were close!

We have lots of these this time of year and enjoy their unique "song"... (we call them video birds because they sound like a legacy arcade video game :))
And yes they scratch and peck up the tiniest bits of something to eat... often you can't even see what it is. But we never have any skinny ones. ;)

Anyway... real good closeup feather details you've captured here.

I noticed that I have at least one in the yard feeding with the Sparrows. They are pretty little Birds. You got some very nice shots there.
