I got a 70-200 F4L non IS!!! I spent ALL of my Christmas money on it, and now I am broke again, but very happy. I only had about 600 dollars, and I got it, and I am thrilled. I would get a 2.8 if I had the money. Keep in mind I am only 16, and I have only been doing this for maybe 6 months.:):)

Congratulations...that was my first L as well. Be prepared to catch the addiction of the red ring - your wallet will never be the same again. Or maybe your parent's wallet? LOL

GREAT! You will like it. I bought one some time ago and will never part with it. It's one sharp lens...and IMHO sharper than either of the 2.8 IS lenses I've used.

Post some images :)

It's the first L of many people because of the price. Welcome to luxury and saving your allowance for a lot more expensive glass in the future.

Congrats!

I'll soon see the Light in a couple of weeks when I get my 100-400. I seriously can't stop reading reviews and looking at photos from it. Obsessed? No, its beyond that. :o

That is one I share with my father. I got the 20 when he got his 5D. I paid for this out of my own pocket. We share lenses, but this one is all mine.

Just got into DSLR's about 3 weeks ago. Got the 7d, 50/1.4, 24L II, 24-105L, 70-200/2.8L IS, and 2 580exII's... pretty much all at the same time.... still figuring out how to use all this stuff, do all the PP. I like flash, so think I'm gonna pick up a 3rd 580 within the next week or so. OH, I'm A LOT older than 16 hehe

Well, good luck. I try and avoid flash personally. Why 2 580's?

You will avoid flash until you learn that you are only shooting yourself in the foot by avoiding it.

Congrats on the lens. The same lens is likely my next purchase...I too do not want to have a $0 balance!
