Could someone help me with some settings to try on flying birds etc. Custom function 3 has 13 things under it and I would like to know what some of yall are using on birds particularly number 6.I'm replacing a 20D and I've tried a couple things in the two weekends I've had it and it is better than the 20d but I think it can be much better still.Thanks.

The only birds I photograph are my Conures so I cannot help you with BIF but if you do a search such as 7D bird focusing or something similar, you will get many results which are geared towards bird photography. If shooting a bird is anything like shooting a running athlete, you want to use center point with Focus point expansion and AI Servo. I'm not sure how fast a SS you need for birds but it msut be faster than what I use for HS Athletes.

cajunclicker,

Take the time to watch these.

They totally changed the way I use the 7D. For example, memorizing AF points and customizing AF points. Those 2 made a big impact. However, I feel I picked something up from each of the videos.
