I am having issues where the camera does not recognize my flash all the time. I have tried two different flashes and the problem persists.
I sent the camera back approx. 1 year ago for another issue and it was repaired. However, while it was there, they stated they reparied the Hot Shoe but it was odd that I was not having problems at the time and now I am.
Therefore, I call Canon to see about getting sent in.
The Canon rep was quick to tell me that if the camera has problems with the hot shoe, than it was caused by the 3rd party flash I use (Sigma DG 530 Super).
I personally think this is "bogus" and has no validity. I feel that if 3rd party items really caused problems, than why would they warranty camera bodies that have used 3rd party items?
I am sending the camera back but basically feel I am about to get screwed.
