Setting up a tripod outside of my window with my 50mm lens. Okay, so the problem...

Every 5 minutes, it's going to take two pictures. My only problem is the shutter speed. What should I do about that? At night, I'd need a really long shutter speed to keep everything illuminated, but once morning hits, it's going to be a problem keeping it from completely blowing out. I'm thinking of setting my camera to no-flash auto mode to see if that works.

Does anyone know of any alternatives? I really don't want to shoot manually, or in that case, wake up in the middle of the night to fix it. Any ideas?
