ETA: All of these were taken with 70-200 @ 200mm. It will be nice to get a 1.4 extender so I can reach out just a little further, haha.

Nice shots of turkeys, # 2 sure is a melanistic bird, or is this someones tame bird on the loose.

Question also, what part of the Southeast do you live in the manicured grass sure looks like Bermuda, but it sure would not look like that here at 28degrees?

Thanks guys. I have gotten permission to go back to this location and set up a blind in the spring. So, I should be able to get some really good shots. Hopefully will be able to bring in some deer as well.

I have decided to get the 400mm f/5.6 , but doubt that I will have it in time for the next round. I am investing in some lighting equipment so that I can start trying to make some money with my camera to fund my wildlife shooting, haha.

ducklabdad: I live in the upstate of SC. These shots were in a field bordering the woods that is mowed by the landowner. He has about 10 acres and the turkey actually roost about 1/4 mile from him. They make a pass almost daily across the side of his property. They usually stick to the same route. So, when spring comes, I should be able to set up my blind VERY close to their projected path.
