I managed to get with in about 40 feet of this young eagle while it was perched on a utility pole. I was using my 500mm lens, so I got a few portrait shots before it flew off.

The eagles were feeding on salmon carcasses along the river, but was tough getting images of them because of all the tree limbs that got in the way.
This one didn`t seem to mind us being there.

I counted 15 eagles in one tree, and close by, in this tree, there were 12, but I was only able to get 6 of them in the frame.

That first shot is stunning, the way you have them perched in trees like that is just so unfair, we can only dream of such a proliferation of magnificent birds.

There was at least two hundred eagles along that part of the river waiting too feed on the salmon.
