I'm sorry for your loss. Earlier this year I used the canon loyalty program to trade in my 300D and got a 50D. LOVE IT compared to the 30D. (AND now I have live view for focusing at night, Auto sensor cleaning and more megapixels!)

If you go the xs/xsi route.. your batteries won't work. with the x0D series they will.

Before you get po'd and toss it, somewhere on the www I saw a fixit article===evidently some of these cameras actually have an internal fuse!!! I did a quick Google but didn't find it

Thanks, but I am not that tekkie that I could do this, besides, this part kinda put me off:

WARNING The large capacitor holds around 300 volts. Avoid touching its pins.
I accidentally touched it. "Slightly unpleasant". :shock:
