Canon 300D - time for a funeral?

I bought the XSi because my digital "passed away" this past summer and my wallet was tight, it's been a great little camera. All my co-workers and my boss's lenses all work with it too (they have the 50D and 40Ds). Great camera for small price

Thank you! It's one of my favorites, especially this time of year

I'm sorry for your loss. Earlier this year I used the canon loyalty program to trade in my 300D and got a 50D. LOVE IT compared to the 30D. (AND now I have live view for focusing at night, Auto sensor cleaning and more megapixels!)

If you go the xs/xsi route.. your batteries won't work. with the x0D series they will.

Before you get po'd and toss it, somewhere on the www I saw a fixit article===evidently some of these cameras actually have an internal fuse!!! I did a quick Google but didn't find it

Thanks, but I am not that tekkie that I could do this, besides, this part kinda put me off:

WARNING The large capacitor holds around 300 volts. Avoid touching its pins.
I accidentally touched it. "Slightly unpleasant".
