I will have my very own 50D in the coming days and I would like to get a wireless shutter release, with "bulb" and "half press" function.

What is the cheapest/best/most commonly purchased unit for the xD/xxD line of cameras? I had the basic push button one for my Rebel and it worked well, but I now realize that I would much prefer a wireless one.

I am looking to spend about $50 or so.

Thanks a lot!

Phottix makes one that you can usually find on eBay that seems to be the most popular cheap option. I have owned an older version for two years now and liked it.

+1 on the Phottix. Works well and it's RF, so line of sight isn't required and it also has a great range.

I bought a Phottix Plato from Amazon for $30. It was shipped from China though. Took about 10 days to ship, but it cost less than other places that I found (around $50).
