Nobody interested?

An Amur leopard, 1 out of the estimated 30 left in the world (It may be down to 25 now). There are only 4-6 females of this species left. Being one of the most and if not rarest felines, the Minnesota Zoo has two of them locked within these fences. They are listed as critically endangered and will most likely become extinct in the next couple years.

Both Leopards were sleeping when I arrived. This one was sleeping on a tree branch, I stood 30 minutes out in -10 Celsius until one of them woke up and did something. My face, my feet, and my hands were freezing. I caught this one licking his arm.

Thanks Bob, it was taken with my Tamron 70-200 2.8 at 200 ISO, 1/500s, f/2.8, and 200mm.

I couldn't agree more!! I'm going to the SD Zoo tomorrow and hope to capture some good photos. That is a really beautiful animal!!

Nice I like it, yes sometimes you need al lot of patience (even in the cold) to take a picture.
