Arrived in Colorado yesterday and immediately took a drive on the Highway of Legends. This is a loop of about 125 miles into the mountains. Along the way, we encountered pretty lakes, dramatic volcano dikes, abandoned mines, beautiful valleys, etc, etc. Here are a few of the scenes we liked.

The first series of many Colorado pics?

Looks nice Stan. I like the windmill and the rock formation by the stream. Looks like you hit it right for wildflowers.

Keep um coming.

Where's the sunrise pics you promised?? Set that alarm! :D :D :D

Thanks, fellas. The wildflowers in this area are truly spectacular, and I have hopes this will be true at the higher elevations over the next month or so.

Dave, I've actually been up for sunrise the past few days, but nothing worth shooting. I go to bed by local time (11-midnight), but keep waking up on east coast time (5 am here). This can't continue.

I'm afraid everyone will be sick of my photos before we leave Colorado.

I would've guessed you upped the saturation on those....but I used to live there. The sky really is that blue!!! Lovely captures.

Hugh - Thanks for the link to that good site. I use http://www.coloradobyways.org/Main.cfm (external link) for all the scenic highways in Colorado.

Kenny - Oh I love Colorado, too. That's why I keep coming back.

tumbleweed - The sky was blue for sure, but the polarizer made sure it shows that way in the image.

Everyone - Thanks for your positive feedback.

Nice shots, I really like the windmill shot. I need to add some windmill pics to my collection. I checked out your pbase gallery: nice job! You really get around. Keep up the good work.
