Excellent photo! Crisp and very clear. The C90 I suspect is the Celestron C90. How do you connect your camera to the C90, and do you use your camera tripod to mount the C90 to it? I would be very interested in getting a C90 for myself.

EDIT: The 3x Barlow, can you give me a link to that as well? Thanks :)

yup, i have the celestron c90 i got from a friend.
i use a Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter (external link). You connect that directly to the back of the c90.
For the X-Cel 3x Barlow (external link), i also use the celestron universal t-adapter (external link). The Fotodiox T-ring screws on to the end of the universal adapter when using the barlow.

i have tried using my tripod and the c90 before, and i used that before with shots of just the c90 (without the barlow), but for this one, i used my celestron advanced vx mount. that's also why it's so clean--i shot 0.5 sec exposures at iso 100.

i did attempt doing a mosaic w/ the c90 and 3x barlow before using a normal tripod, but it was harder to do since i had to take pics as the moon drifted across the sensor, and i couldn't accurately reposition the camera for the next "row" of shots. so i ended up with a lot of gaps in the middle of my moon.

you should have a decent tripod if you want to take pics with the c90...slight wind could ruin your shots if your tripod barely handles the weight.

the c90 may not be that sharp, but a little sharpening in photoshop helps it out. the nice thing about the c90 is that it's pretty fun to use in the daytime...it's got pretty close focusing considering it's 1250mm focal length.

the c90 is a nice, cheap way to get close up shots of the moon and planets. it may be at it's limit with the 3x barlow though. the c5 with it's larger aperture should resolve details better than the c90 (they have the same focal length), but is larger and heavier.

More great shots. In the second one you have stars off to the right? I've never seen that, always thought the correct exposure for the moon would not capture the much dimmer stars.

according to DOF calculator online, at 15 ft, dof is roughly 0.02 ft with my 7D. at infinity, it's...infinite (hyperfocal distance is around 17500 ft).

don't know if i posted this one on here already, but here's a mosaic that i did back in may using the c90 and 3x barlow on my normal photo tripod...it's noisier because of the higher iso and shutter speeds, and i didn't realize i didn't get enough for the bottom. oops :P

Thank you for the compliment. However, I did not take that picture.

You need to be complimenting ohata0 post #1848 right above my post.
