Last nights full moon, cloudy at 7:30pm - missed the penumbra lunar eclipse, at 10:50pm a break in clouds so took these.
Each is 1min 40 sec apart on fixed tripod, T1i + 70-200mm @ 560mm via TC's stacked.

Is that not the earths shadow bottom RH ?
It just looks darker related to the rest of your exposure level.

Ace, could be where you are located, might have the light on the moon dead front on so there's no shadows in the craters? Maybe?

Couple from last night :) not close ups though...

When you have a full moon as yours is (or nearly a full moon) the sun is shining directly at the center of the moon, and directly at the center of the craters.

When the moon is not full, then the sun is shining to the side of the moon and the side of the craters thus you can see the heights of the craters thus creating shadows so you can see the craters better.

Hope This Helps :)

Inspeqtor - Charles, what sort of PP are you applying to your moon images?

Also, is your set-up rock solid robust?

Youa re shooting it with your Canon - EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM and 2xTC I guess.
You might try ISO200 for at 1/320 speed with 800mm.

I don't do a lot of PP on my photos. I do have PSE11 and use that a little to try and sharpen them with.

My setup is I have the Manfrotto 3021BPro Tripod with Manfrotto 410 Geared Head. I also use the Canon RS60-E3 Remote Switch so as to not cause any vibration.

I do not own the Canon 100-400 lens, I do own the Sigma 150-500 lens (see my sig) and I own the Kenko Pro 300 1.4 TC

I have tried using my TC but have not been that happy with it, so I rarely use it.

I have used ISO 100 and 200 finding it depends on the brightness of the moon and how clear the night sky is. 1/320 shutter speed would be way to fast leaving the picture very dark even without the TC on.

Just curious, why are you asking?
