I agree. It really captures the way it looks like visually through a scope, which most photographs don't. Well done.

Steve.

Thanks guys. The second is actually a composite of the third and fourth. And it was shot through a telescope, Meade 12" LX200R (3048mm focal length, used a focal reducer for the shots) and a 10D.

Here are a few of mine. Both are crops, shot Feb 13, 2011.

Both: ISO 200, 1/200s, f/8, mirror lockup + cable release

1st: Cheap Tou/Five Star 500mm lens in Pentax K flavor, EF adapter ring with AF chip. I bought this hollow tube for $35 several years ago. Manual aperture, manual focus, harsh CA balanced with low contrast. :)

I guess nobody has explicitly stated that images in this thread have to be taken from Earth. :)

Not Hubble (the moon is too bright for Hubble's sensors), but taken from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.

Hello all, my first post here.

Here's my first attempt at "shooting the moon" with my T2i and EF-S 55-250.

Hand held, taken on 2-18-2011.
