Some beautiful shots in this thread. Here's my contribution. Taken with Canon Rebel XT and Canon Zoom EF 70-300mm at 300mm. ISO-200, F/11, 1/200, 300mm on tripod with a remote shutter button. Took it into Photoshop and took the contrast up a little and then sharpened a bit with an unsharp mask.

I wish there was a little less noise. Of course I also wish it were zoomed more and a little more detailed but if I could change one thing about it I'd say remove the noise.

Mine from last night. Just could not get as sharp as I wanted, It would not come out from behind the clouds. This was the best I could get when the cloud thinned.

I really struggle to focus on the Moon. When manually focusing through the x10 live view the image is always moving as I am touching the focus ring and moving the camera. Also the focus point must be a nano degree on the focus ring!! :(

I didn't have much success with the "super moon". This was the best of the bunch:

It's interesting to see the different angles and views as the photos are taken from different parts of the earth!

Since I only had one very critical response to a separate post, I'm reposting my first shot from last night here. Folks, please understand that this shot is through sea fog and atmosphere. As the moon continued to rise it became less distorted and more sharply defined. Canon 5d2, 600mm L IS x2 TC III.

It would make a very interesting picture if it weren't for the shake blur that is obvious around the upper limb of the moon. almost looks like a double exposure which is cause more blur washing out much of the detail that would still be able to shine through the fog. You were holding the camera in hand weren't you. I think a more stable picture would make the sea fog, colors and distortion look much better.

Someone needs to read the image posting rules and re-post their image. A maximum of 1024 on the longest dimension.

We were waiting quite a while for the thing to appear and that exposure was at 0.6s at f8. That looked to me like camera shake, but the thing was mounted in a tripod (on a wooden walkway, which suddenly became full of people jostling to take a picture of the moon). I think the boards may have moved or the IS, which on the 600 is supposed to sense the tripod, may have been halfway engaged

Here's the second shot, 0.3s at f8, which doesn't have the double image. Perhaps in trying for an artsy image I picked the wrong one

Wooden boardwalks with loads of people around will do it.
I always turn the IS off when I use the tripod, The only time I really using it is when I am on the nature trail.
