Last night's moon, here in Corpus Christi, TX.

We had sea fog moving in on this shot, and some other clouds around. Still, a neat scene appeared, and I was able to capture this image.

I remember being able to watch the Disneyland fireworks show every night from where I lived in Buena Park back in the early 1970s, 9 o'clock sharp.

April 12th 2019

Tonight is a Lunar V & X event on the moon. Always fun to hunt them down near the terminator. I imaged early in the evening (19:45 Eastern) when the seeing was not ideal, but didn't want to risk clouds later tonight and miss this, as it's only once a month as an option.

Full Disc High Resolution Mosaic imaged with a 200mm F10 SCT with a 742nm wavelength IR filter and an IMX178 monochrome sensor:

Please see my Astrobin link for the real full resolution image, this tiny preview doesn't do it justice.

Very best,

Incredible work Martin! As always. Here is my effort.... just a quickie 2 part mosaic. (not quick at all really... but I only shot two series - my full disc shots might be better - have to see.)

A77ii Plus Mino 400/4.5 + two stacked TC's. 1680mm. 150 stacked images for each of the two part mosaic. Lots of work... not sure worth it.

Tonights effort... well , part one anyway. Not sure how my 1680mm shots went yet. No time to process - they will be 2 piece mosaics if they are good.

This one is a stack of 190 full disk shots taken with my Sony A77ii, Minolta 400/4.5 lens + 3X TC. (1200mm - 1800mm effective)

Very best regards
