Just got a Metabones EF to Sony E mount adapter, so did a quick test shot this morning with the Tamron 150-600 on the little Sony A6000 handheld and manually focused.

Well, I have some new gear. Bought a scope, though I have not imaged with it yet. (a little 6 inch newtonian)

Would have had a lovely full disc to share.... but due to a little carelessness with a new program, I blew out all the highlights.
Here is just a crop of the moon from this morning just before dawn. A lovely 30% slice if only I did not "blow" it.

Minolta 300/2.8 + 3X TC. - iOptron AZ Pro mount, ZWO ASI183mm camera
best 170 files from 1700 frames.
Firecapture, AS!3, IMMPG and LR6

Thanks much to my friend and astro mentor, Marty (MalVeaux) for guiding me about gear and expectations, and so much more!

This crop reduced in size to about 70% of full pixels.

Agreed! Marty is a great resource and has answered many of my questions in stepping into lunar and astrophotography. I hope to have more time in the future to dedicate to this type of photography and give back to this community.

One of the Apollo landing sites as well as the rig I use to image. Meade LX200 16" and I use the ZWO ASI174mm both cooled and uncooled (uncooled works fine when the air temp is 20 degrees F.

It shows here in this quote, but not in your post above.......

I was able to click on the link in your first post also showing your massive scope and see the full version there....

Nothing fancy, shot with a Nikon P-610 handheld. I just like framing the moon with the branches of a dead Bois de Arc tree in my yard. Gotta cut it down one of these days, but I'm not looking forward to the job.

At 11 degrees its not much good to shoot..... but I shot anyway to practice with the new mount/camera/software. I still have not tried my 6 inch Newtonian I just picked up and I already have yet another scope on its way. Picked up a used Celestron C8 which is on its way to me. Pretty excited.... :) Can hardly wait for some nice high partial moons to shoot! I should be set for a while now. haha

This a stack of 390 best frames of 1560. Minolta 300/2.8 @ 900mm, ASI183MM camera, iOptron AZ PRO mount. Firecapture, AS!3, IMPPG and LR6.

Picked up a line in this stack somehow in the processing. Ah well.

19.4 % waxing.

Heya,

Had a rare opportunity this evening at some clear sky. Seeing was average. This hurricane seasons has been nasty here in Florida. Haven't had much opportunity to see the sky. Anyhow, managed to get some data on the moon tonight and Jupiter & Saturn with it. Took a look at the 43% waxing crescent tonight in a wee 80mm F5 (400mm focal length) achromat and then did some high resolution surface imaging with a 200m F10 SCT with a 610nm filter to calm the seeing with a monochrome camera (ASI290MM).
