WOW! What file size did you end up with?

It was a 137mb Tiff. I barely did any cropping from the top/bottom and did 500px from each side.

Had my lens swapped over at it had a problem, so this was the first chance to test it - to see if it needed any adjustment in micro focus alignment in camera, anyway cut a long story - I settled with the same setting as my previous lens - this is a shot from that setting.

Its a crop from 6000pixals to about 1800.

Heya,

It was cloudy all day, but finally cleared up this evening while cooking dinner, so took some frames on the moon. Did a full disc in a single shot with the 200mm F6 newtonian and IMX183 in 500nm wavelength, then followed up with doing the same thing at F12 with the 290MM and 500nm filter for a finer image scale, just a bit under critical-sampling. Seeing was pretty good. So, tonight's Waxing Gibbous at 67% illumination.

200mm F6 Quartz Newtonian
IMX183mm + Baader 500nm Green (full disc)
290MM + 2x Barlow (F12) + Baader 500nm Green (High Res)
Best 501 frames each of 2k frames
Seeing 4/5 for stacked frames

That's pretty good for a 70-300mm lens.

Finally had the time for a first attempt. I was not in a dark enough area. I plan on redoing this at the Observatory next full moon. I am reading up on stacking.....those images are amazing.

No, I’m about 65 miles from Hernandez in Albuquerque. But the scenery is very similar.

Ansel Adams, seems we don't hear much about this inspirational photographer any more. Thanks for posting, and the reminder. :-)

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

The worm moon the other night.... as I was heading up to an early bedtime I saw it rising through the trees on the ridge in the distance.... quick grabbed my DSLR for a tree top silhouette. I shot just resting on my deck railing - no time for a tripod. Sony A99ii and Minolta 400/4.5 lens + 1.4X TC.

Hey, how did that tree get on the Moon? Rhetorical question, but nice composition. :-)
