This photo, taken in November of 1969, shows the Philco 24" color TV we watched the Apollo Moon landing on. That's me and my daughter in front of it.

Lovely picture! Can you recreate it with present day upgrades?

CC always welcome.

Thanks for the suggestion. That might just be possible. Of course, We'd be in front of a 60" LCD TV now and my daughter is a little taller now at age 51. ;-)a

That will look awesome, when you place the two photos side-by-side.

It would take about a 400 meter (one-quarter-of-a-mile) aperture to resolve the flag from terrestrial earth (and require perfect seeing conditions).

Very best,

Cheers...

Wouldn't like to guess the price tag on that....

Actually, perhaps it need not be as expensive as you might think. Get several smaller telescopes spaced at least that far apart as an interferometer.

Radio telescopes use that same technique now.

How long have you had the scope now? I do not think it has been very long, correct?

You have learned quite well how to use it!!

I would say you are on par with both MalVeauX and Jeff USN Photog 72-76, them doing the Sun and you doing the Moon!!

That time i bought the scope for about $1000, it is actually $1200 almost everywhere without shipping, but that site and because i am overseas had nice price for overseas so i didn't stop to buy that time, only scope, all other things bought separately.

Sure i do, that is the point, otherwise i will be wasting time and money buying things and don't know how to use it.

I know about MalVeaX solar imaging, amazing and mind blowing, i will do the sun later one day once i buy the appropriate setup for it, but for now i am focusing on DSO and planetary imaging as moon and planets, later i will add the sun once i am already gone far into DSO and planetary, ordered a scope new for DSO that should be shipped next year and will order another one to go dual, then i hope to buy another scope rather than the above one to do planets much better than above scope, the moon is easy for me with any scope, i have three or 4 so far without the new one ordered, so i will stop doing the moon for a while and do everything else, and hopefully in 1 or 2 years i can return back to photography as well.
