Handheld shot from yesterday afternoon 420mm RAW, then converted to DNG and opened up in LR5 slight correction work before exporting to Topaz AL for de-noise work then back into LR5 for the final touch up and cropping by 60% then saving a Jpeg.

I had a go at the moon last night for the first time in ages and I decided to use the proper equipment, so I set my Skymax 102 scope outside to cool for an hour and captured a bunch of frames to sort and stack. Here's the result.
Not bad considering there was a thin layer of haze in front of everything.

Playing with a pre-production copy of Olympus 150-400 with internal 1.2 tc. Cold night, but wanted to try out this lens on a quick moon shot. I'm once more happy with how the lens performs. I rotated for compositional change. Shots with Olympus EM1X with preproduction 150-400mm with internal 1.2x tc engaged at 500mm (1000mm equivalent), handheld, silent shutter, 1/300 sec, f/6.3, ISO 200, EV 0

How were you able to get a pre-production copy? This lens is not yet available to the public then, correct?
I am surprised it is only a 1.2tc and not a 1.4tc
If the lens was at 400x1.2 that equals 480mm so I do not follow where you are saying engaged at 500mm with 1000mm equivalent

It IS a GREAT shot!!

Heya,

More high saturation lunar surface experiments. I think I have the workflow down to reproduce similar color mixes finally.

I think it means something to the extent that once you have it dialed in correctly, then don’t keep fussing with it (break the knob off so you can’t turn it anymore)

Similar I suppose to, if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it. :)

I just meant that I liked where it was at.
