I assume this is a crop...I would have to crop mine to get this close and I use a 100-400 on a 7D2, with a 2x converter for effective 1280mm Yes cropped of course. Sony A1. Inspeqtor wrote in post #19343121 That is a REALLY GOOD shot!! Thanks very much Charles. I'm also sure the seeing conditions would have been very good too, making for a clear image. Neal

Tronhard Goldmember More info | Feb 18, 2022 14:48 | #7311 A couple of days ago there was the fortunate coincidence of the full moon, low on the horizon as the dawn was breaking. This drastically reduced the contrast levels and the cool of the morning reduced some of the atmospheric impacts as well. Shot hand-held Image hosted by forum (1145627) © Tronhard [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff. Edshropshire Senior Member More info | Mar 10, 2022 17:21 | #7318 My first moon shot. I took this from the side of the road (HW 20 in Utah) late at night coming back from a photo shoot in N AZ. I was not planning on stopping but I had my 800 f11 on my R5 sitting in my back seat. I pulled over and was amazed a the moon, even if the night was a little hazy. The spot was a between 7-8K feet in elevation. One of the really dark sky areas of the State. I did not have a tripod out and it was really cold so I hand held the shot bracing the camera on the luggage rack. I thought my first effort worked out. R5, 5D MK2, RF 100-500, RF 800 f11, RF 24-105 f4, RF 1.4c TC, RF 100-400, EF 70-200 f2.8 II,EF 24-70 L, 70-200 f4 L, 85 1.8, 50 1.8,

Thanks, I was really surprised how well the shot turned out. The elevation and the dark sky helped really enhance the brightness of the moon.
