And YES your Sigma Lens will fit the Sigma extender!

So the Canon lens won't fit the Sigma extender, but will the Sigma lens fit the Canon extender? The Sigma 150-600 C is on my wish list and I had been thinking I'd also like to get the extender. I have tentatively identified the Sigma because it's a bit cheaper, but it might be worth a little extra for an extender that works with more of my lenses. Of course, I would probably only really use it with the 150-600. If I needed more reach than my 70-300 provides I'd probably switch lenses before adding and extender. Of course all predicated on the assumption that I get the 150-600!

Oh that 70-300 hasn’t been touched since I got the sigma ߘ so no problem there but thank you for those price checks!

I only manual focus the moon haven’t even tried Jupiter or Saturn yet, I use manual focus and use the zoom in feature up to 10x to really fine tune it to get it where I like it

I'll have to try it. I use the Canon connect app on my android. Not sure if you can zoom in on that, but I guess I could use the live view on the camera to focus and then just use the remote connection for the shutter.

Expected is September 1st (crossing my fingers)

But yeah 800 on top of the 1.6 because of Aps-c so I’ll reach so far!

I’m shooting past the moon now!!

You are correct. My fingers are too big for my phone keyboard. I fixed it.

Maybe of interest here.
Last weekend I shot the moon at a few different focal lengths

200mm through a 70-200
600mm through 600f4
1800 through an orion cc6 , actually a 2 shot pano to get it in frame

All 3 are good, but the telescope is by the best showing the most detail which is to be expected!!

My original plan was to get up and shoot the same phase under different lighting conditions before/after sunrise, but I was just too tired to get up that early...
