Thanks, Charles! It was a nice opportunity to spot Uranus so close to the Moon :)

The moon got mooned.

Unfortunately I was unable to get any shots of the eclipse. There were lots of great shots posted here though. But I was wondering if anyone else has come across this composite taken by Andrew McCarthy? What a brilliant image. You can clearly see that the eclipse is being caused by a round object.

Last night's 99% illuminated waning gibbous. Normally I don't bother with full moons as their features have low contrast, but I was after color and more signal allows better signal for color. This was a little quick grab after we viewed Mars at its near opposition.

I didn't, weather wasn't cooperating. We did Jupiter, Saturn, Mars at opposition and the Moon last night as a solar system tour.

I guess this is where to post photos of the Mars/Moon event?

The day of the occult was heavy clouds and on/off light rain, so pretty much had given up on seeing anything. But..., just after sundown the frount started easing east and by event time it was clear -and- dripping wet with heavy dew. :-) Homemade dew shield and hairdryer we managed to grab a few photos.

This is just before Mars slipped behind the lunar surface.

Celestron 6” and Canon 60d@prime (was going to do some eyepiece projection but way too much dew to open up)
