Roundabout 1am, one member of our part started asking my wife and me about our dissertation writing process. She's working on her's and wanted to know what we went through. We shared ... and she emoted.

ISO 200, f/5.6, 68mm on the Tammy, bounced flash. C&C greatly appreciated.

I think it's a good shot! The lighting is nice, especially for the mood, the emotion is great and I like all the little points of interest the jewelry creates. The only things I don't really like in it are the beer bottle in front of her and the chunk of sequined clothing? in the lower left corner. The bottle really isn't a big deal as it fits the scene, but clone out that piece of clothing. :)

I'll get on the clothing thing, Kathy. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Nice expressive mood. Wish the B + W tones would be cooler. Do not like the bottle right in front of her.

Yeah ... I got lost in the face and didn't even think about the bottle. Oops. Live and learn.

Seems the clothing in the bottom left may be a little beyond my technical abilities, too. Here's one attempt:
