Little sisters...and brrr!

Just did a quick 10 minute session with some distant cousins. So cold we cut it short, but I liked these. Thoughts? Thanks for looking.

Cute kiddos... the color seems a bit washed out. Possibly due to the exposures. Is it possible to adjust them a bit more in raw?

The colors are from the processing. I definitely have a more vintage style. I faded the pics fairly heavily. Then came back with a color pop, and boosted contrast. I also do purposly expose to the right and then bump up the mids. Its always very controversial on here... but I think an issue is I am working off of a laptop. So if you are on a calibrated monitor it my look extra bright? Whenever I print it matches my screen. However, I will be getting a new monitor soon. If for no other reason to resolve the POTN issue

Yes.. my monitor is calibrated... I also expose to the right on purpose.. so I understand that... Maybe it the difference of the laptop.. I guess if your prints look the way you want them to, then that's what matters.. It's an artistic choice of how we finish our images. There is no right or wrong way to do it... so if you're happy and your clients are happy.. that is what matters most.

Totally! Yeah I was looking on someones huge lcd monitor the other day...not sure if it was calibrated... but the colors of my pics were WAYYYYY off. BAD. So I can imagine some people seeing that..oh goodness. My prints match my monitor...yes, but still need to invest in a better one Thanks for commenting. I like your work, so its appreciated.

Okay Kristy...so this got me thinking... What if I did my color pop after I did all my vintage pp.. so here is a version of one of the pics from above... just with the color pop after. I didnt change anything about the exposure. Make a difference?

Doesn't look a lot different to me..?? Maybe I'm missing something. It it were my image, I would leave the color more natural, or completly B&W. I'm not really into vintage processing and all that jazz..

Maybe I'm more of a minimalist.. I just like things simple and natural.

Your creative side leads you to want to change it up.. and that is totally your artistic intrepretation of your images... so just roll with it, and love it because it reflects your own personal style..

People come to me because they like that I am very non traditional and use different colors. So the last thing I want is the colors to be washed out. That was the reasoning for the second edit. I have been playing with this winter vibe processing. I have a tendency to edit differently for each season. So anyway... just wanted to fix the color issue.. its still gonna be faded, but a bit more color. Here is the side by side... Thanks again for taking the time.

I wouldn't say it's 'washed out' but definitely on the faded/vintage side. Not my personal taste (I love bold, contrast, vibrant colours), but I do love the photos!

The second does look more colorful... just not dramatically IMO... Not being negative... just saying it like I see it I guess. We all have different styles... and it is the very thing that makes us each unique in our journey. Just think how boring it would be if every one had the exact same style and workflow.

The second edit is definitely better. Cute kids!

Thanks! I do enjoy a bold processing too! Thats kinda how I roll in the summer!

Cute kids! These might look good in a three opening frame (maybe the red in the middle and the blues on either side). Im not sure how I feel about the vintag-y look but it makes the sweaters pop.

I like the second processing on the girl in red. It makes her eyes sparkle.
