I'm no bird expert, but I'd agree with Yellow Warbler.

That's a Pine Warbler. A Yellow Warbler would be extremely rare where you are this time of year. But more importantly, looking at something like the beak as well as the wing bars, or the slight eye line and faint yellow ring around the eye would give you more information..... Also, looking at the actions on the feeder, that is characteristic of a Pine Warbler where as a Yellow Warbler has a different stance (and would probably not frequent a feeder).

I'm sure if you check some google images of winter pine warblers you can compare for yourself... Hope this helps

Thanks so much, I have the East ofthe Rockies Bird Field Guide by Peterson, and some of those drawings/paintings are very confusing...LOL of course as my name implies I'm a real noob.

Thanks again!

No problem. That is a good book there, and there are many others, but one I would suggest looking at is Kaufman. Granted most birders have numerous books on birds, but if you're gonna try to learn about them 2 is a nice number to start with and this would make a good combination. The thing about Kaufman is he uses real pictures in his ID guide, which IMO is a huge help when learning about birds. NE GA (I don't know specifically where you are) will yield great warbler opportunities that others here will never have, so even in the winter when they're away it would be worth learning about them to be prepared for Spring, Summer and Fall....

Good luck

Beautiful bird! Wish he would make his way over to this part of N.Ga. Saw another post where you were trying to attract birds to your place. Just wondering how that was coming along for you? Thanks for sharing.
