Ingsy you are right, the yellow line is really important in the picture. It's a big leading line, our eyes follow it immediately up to infinity. That's the reason I gave it a big saturation boost and added some luminosity to it. Without it, the picture would have been to much blue.

To help your shot, I'd select a smaller aperture (at F8), the blur portion of the sidewalk is a bit distracting. Also I'd crop it tighter, there is too much wasted space on the bottom right part of the picture. Our eyes aren't going straight to the track because there's lots of room to look around. Lastly I'd tweak the white balance a bit more to the blue side, to give it a colder feel.

Hope I helped a bit ;)

After I finished my 365 project, I made a book:

That is awesome! That's what I am planning when I'm done. It helps keep me going. Where did you get it made?

I'm trying to stay on top of this in the run up to Christmas, as I think I'm going to get a bit behind over the weekend.

Ah Toad in the Hole, we used to really miss this when we left the UK but then we started making our own British Bangers :)

I like a lot!!!

Can't you get sausages in Hungary then?

Toad in the hole is tasty - it didn't last very long when it came out of the oven, I can tell you :)

Going a bit off topic here but I quite like it as a picture. It looked crap in colour though! I'm getting a bit disappointed that I'm nearly halfway through this project and I still don't seem to be improving - I'm getting images I like but without knowing why I like them. Because of this I don't seem to be able to get a good one every time, sometimes I'm lucky, sometimes I'm not.

Has anyone else found this when doing this project, or am I the only one?

We can get plenty of Salami type sausages and heavily spiced Paprika sausages and blood ausages but nothing like an English Banger, fortunately all supermarkets and butchers sell sausage skins so we bought a mincer with a sausage stuffing attachment :)

I like the picture too and am going to try and do more food pictures next year, 'twas the plan for this year but I kinda got distracted!

I am 9 days from finishing my project and have found it really useful in terms of improvement, lots of my pictures have been fairly average due to just heading out and grabbing something but overall I have learnt a lot about my limitations and the limitations of my camera and glass and I have noticed my limitations moving as the year has progressed. I have been thinking about just doing a week project next year which I am certain would produce better images but I think it will reduce my learning curve so am going to start a 365 again, I think I have learnt more from failing to get shots and returning to them later in the year than just the shots that have worked first time. I guess I am fortunate with time though and am not trying to fit this in around a full time job!

A few recent ones
