He he, thanks Willy, I'm back to top shape now :)

Natums: Nice teaser, best up to date!

EDIT: Do you have some sort of motorized dolly or the moving effect is done in post?

Delayed response, lol. I don't have a motorized dolly in any of those, I did recently begin hacking my rotisserie to use as a motor for the home-made slider I have. :) But all of those were post pans and tilts.

So, that's the end of this thread? Does it also mark the end of thread like ''One strobe only'', ''Multiple strobes'', ''XXD users unite'', ''Show us your camera thread'' where we all know that users post a lot more than 8 pictures per thread?

Jon, I do appreciate your work here on POTN, but is it absolutely necessary to enforce the rules by the book here? I don't think we are abusing or using this thread as a gallery at all. We're showing what we came up with during the day, hoping to inspire someone else. I find this thread a huge inspiration for my 365 project, I really hope we are still allowed to post pictures here, not only links.

Well, if you'll try to refrain from posting your every day's photo here, but just what you consider noteworthy, a few times a month. It's when you post every single photo (or even 90% of them) of your project here that it becomes excessive. Remember - Pekka has said that he does not want POTN to be used as your gallery. Post your best as a lure to your site.

For the record, we have also been cracking down on overuse of the other "show us your" threads as well. But "One strobe" or "multiple strobe", for instance, can provide specific technique illustrations for others to learn from. They're "gear-specific", not "theme-specific", if you will; where the emphasis is on what you can achieve with "x", not showing off your photos taken on a subject, theme or self-assignment.

Oh I get it. So it would be better if say we posted our favorite shot from the week? And then a link to our galleries with the rest of the photos.

That makes sense and is fine and the tone is in keeping with the both the website and to a greater degree this thread, I just found your previous interjections both blunt and to a degree rather rude... Thanks for the clarification :)

And on a different note a dragonfly picture that forms todays entry in my 365, I love this time of year so much to photograph in the garden!!!

Watching Cars Go By... - 4/365

IMAGE: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2466/5694716137_8aa86ffd11_b.jpg

This shot almost didn't happen. I've always wanted to shoot some light trails, and had the bright idea that since I was doing this, I might as well start taking risks.

Eariler, I wanted to get a shot like this with the sun setting that had a lot more traffic facing west. Well I passed up two potential places to shoot, and stopped at another two before my lizard brain convinced me that I could possibly get a ticket if a cop saw me, or seriously hurt and it was best I stay in the car and move on. To which I complied.

After a couple of hours, and with the sun already gone, I made up my mind to actually shoot thing thing. If I had not, not only would I have regretted doing it, but also it would have put a damper in my 365 project. I was still hadn't taken my photo prior to this (because this was what I wanted to shoot) yet and it was now or never. After getting my first attempt at a shot like this out of the way, I was able to relax a bit and really try to shoot different angles and try new ideas. This is the result.

Well, that's another photo in the books. I must say that this experience has taught me a valuable lesson...

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Thanks Andy, appreciate that. She is beautiful but I suppose I'm biased! She's a boxer/ridgeback cross.
