a couple of shots of the thunderstorm Saturday passing south of the Phoeniz, AZ. My wife took the full-frame cameras to shoot a wedding, so I had to use my Canon S80 P&S

Certainly not my best landscape image but my new favorite place in the US. It was shot at the Arches National Park, UT; mid-day and hotter than blazes (110F). I hope to return in the fall when weather and lighting conditions are better. This is a pretty low resolution image. Comments are welcome. Details: Canon 50D, 17-55 f2.8 EF-S at 17 mm, Hoya Pro1 circular polarizer, f11, 1/50 at ISO100. Others can be found at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gtbowman/4899340264/ (external link)

Just been down to revisit some old haunts. This is the first of about 90 images shot at Badbury Rings, in Dorset.

33mm (my 16-35L), 1/40s f/9. Tripod and shutter release cable of course.

Going through 90 shots will take time but this one offers hope that others might be better as I gradually got my head around the composition.
